Dr. Claudia’s Symphony: Touching Lives of Thousands With Music

A few days ago I came across a book authored by Dr Claudia Williams, a teacher on WizIQ. It was sitting on my colleague’s desk and caught my eye. When I asked him about it, he told me that Dr. Claudia had given it to him as a gift.

That’s when he told me that it was “hand delivered” by the founder and CEO of WizIQ who’d had an opportunity to meet Dr. Williams in New York this summer.  Dr. Williams, who has been using WizIQ to teach Creative Art Therapies for last two years, wanted to thank him for his support in helping her use WizIQ to teach students from around the world. It was her token of appreciation.

The intriguing title of the book “Art: A Healing Tool for Children” and the fact that she teaches Creative Art Therapies fascinated me. It should prove inspiring to many teachers out there who are developing their own unique brands online.

I was touched by her story and her gesture of gratitude. There aren’t many people in this world who will come forward to express their appreciation for help in such a generous way. But Dr Claudia Williams did. I wanted to learn more about her, meet her and write about her.

Dr Williams has a Doctorate in Education and has been teaching Creative Art Therapies and the transcendental effect of Music for the last 20 years.

I had a couple of Skype calls and email exchanges with her. She agreed to share her experience with me and let me document her work as a case study.

She uses music to cure people and she trains other clinicians to do the same. In the war-torn countries, disaster-struck areas or domestic violence cases, Dr. William has transformed the lives of the children and adolescents.

If you would like to learn more about Dr. Williams and her work, don’t forget to download our newly published case study “Dr. Williams Reaches Out to Clinicians Worldwide, Teaching Creative Art Therapies, Online”. Now might be a good time to reflect on what YOU can do to make a difference through teaching online.

If you’d like to share your ideas for developing a teaching brand online, feel free to share them with us in comments below.

  1. Such a wonderful blog, Dolly. Dr. Claudia’s work reminds me of “Playing for Change,” a worldwide charity that fosters music education and appreciation for music in all its forms and from many different types of people. Looking forward to reading the case study.
