In our last post we informed you about the upcoming dashboard redesign. This morning, you had a chance to actually use it. For some, it may have caused a little confusion as change can be unnerving, but we hope that once you’re used to it, you’ll agree that this change is for the better. This time we’ll go into a bit more detail about the new 3-panel design, and how to quickly find important features.
The new WizIQ dashboard breaks down as follows:
Left Panel: The new left navigation panel offers expanded options and features. Below Courses, you’ll find two sections: the Create Course option, and the My Courses heading, which is followed by your current list of courses. The Live Classes section is laid out similarly. You can use the Schedule Live Class option there, and view the list of your classes under My Classes. On top of this, new info call-outs display the details of your navigation options. (Click Ok to close the call-outs if you find they get in the way. Once you close them, they won’t reappear.) If you have a long list of courses, you’ll have the option to expand and collapse the list.
Middle Panel: The middle panel is powered with a homepage feed. At the top is the list of your Live & upcoming classes, along with a search box for exploring topics you would like to learn about or teach. If you’re a teacher, then this section also lets you view notifications on the number of students who have accessed your content, taken the tests, commented on your content, or viewed your recorded classes. Further down in the Updates section, you can set your preferences on what kind of information will appear below.
Right Panel: The right navigation panel contains collateral information and links regarding WizIQ. Here you can Invite People to sign up, view the WizIQ blog roll for the latest tips, check out the latest happenings on WizIQ with the What’s New section, and view My Network.
