Tablets are “The Big Thing” in ed tech hardware. Intel just released its Studybook tablet reference design, every week we hear about a new school district rolling out 1:1 programs with iPads, even as they are cutting budgets to deal with ongoing fiscal crises, and the promise of Windows 8 on tablets, new Android releases, and the 800 pound gorilla that is the New iPad has given educators and students tablet fever.
The real question, though, is whether tablets, regardless of OS or manufacturer, are actually the best choice for students and educators. And if they are, is this universal across grade levels? Ability levels?
Join me on Wednesday, April 25th, at 12:30pm EDT to discuss these questions and more. I’m looking forward to an great, interactive session where we tear apart the hype, the myths, and the realities of tablets in education.
